LATV faces key challenges in user experience, content management, and monetization. This UX Discovery aims to improve content discovery, streamline internal workflows, and align the platform’s technology with business goals to enable scalable growth.
Objective
LATV is a media platform dedicated to connecting the U.S. Latino community with culturally relevant content. Despite its strong editorial voice, the platform faced challenges with content discoverability, inconsistent user experience, inefficient internal workflows, and monetization limitations. The objective of this project was to uncover actionable insights through research that would inform a scalable redesign.
As Lead User Researcher, I led the discovery phase, focusing on uncovering user behaviors, motivations, and unmet needs. My work included:
- Stakeholder Alignment & Research Planning: Collaborated with cross-functional teams to define research goals and success metrics.
- User Interviews & Ethnographic Research: Conducted in-depth interviews with a diverse group of users to explore their content consumption habits, cultural identity, and UX expectations.
- UX Audit & Benchmarking: Evaluated the platform’s interface and user flows, benchmarking against industry leaders in digital media.
- Facilitation of Reflective Workshops: Led co-creation and insight-sharing workshops with client teams to align on user needs, surface internal pain points, and translate research into actionable strategies.
- Synthesis & Insight Generation: Translated qualitative data into clear, compelling insights around cultural relevance, content navigation, and design trustworthiness.
